Michael (Co-owner and Master Lure Cerator), has been trapping since the 1984-1985 season, when he began trapping with his uncle that season he caught his first beaver and has been addicted since.

 

By the 1988-89 season he was trapping the local ponds, streams, & fields on his own. He was riding his bike or catching a ride from his mother. He was very fortunate to have a mentor that taught him many methods of trapping and passed along not only the love of trapping but the knowledge of bait and lure making as well.

 

In  2005 he started making baits and lures for both friends and his own personal use. Friends would come from all over Cattaraugus county get samples of his products!

Linda (Co-owner and Director of Marketing), has a background in Marketing and Business. Now, although she was brought up in the city, since the age of 4 she has enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with her family, but she never experienced  trapping until meeting Michael in 2014. Because of her love of the outdoors, she jumped right in with Michael, excited to learn more everyday and help get children involved as well!

In 2016 Linda and Michael decided to share his passion and knowledge with the public.  On August 1, 2016, Sawmill Creek was born.
